Jon Glassberg

Director + Adventurer

A professional climber for twenty years, Jon Glassberg began traveling the world climbing rocks up to 5.14 and V14. As a talented photographer and filmmaker he's become one of the Outdoor Industry’s preeminent directors, now traveling the globe to document world-famous athletes during their best—and toughest—moments.

As an insider, Jon has the trust and respect of pro-athletes, working on their level to deliver authentic narratives. Shooting from precarious places, where most filmmakers don’t have the skills to go, Jon is able to capture commercial quality images in both the vertical and horizontal worlds. He has directed a variety of award-winning features and campaigns for adventure and non-adventure brands alike, including The North Face, 37.5 Technology, Master Class, Mountain Hardware, Charlotte’s Marmot, Black Diamond, La Sportiva, Petzl, USA Climbing, Outdoor Research, and Spyder. Jon received acclaim capturing Emily Harrington’s record-setting ascent of El Capitan, making her the first woman to free climb Golden Gate in 21 hours, as well as his coverage of the climbing’s 2020 Olympic debut.

Jon enjoys hanging from the side of El Capitan capturing free ascents 3000 ft off the valley floor, climbing in the Rocky Mountains and traveling to the corners of the earth to capture rare moments in sport. He enjoys following personalities and developing deep, authentic stories about talented people doing the coolest stuff out there.
